The titular story was truly weird and disappointing.This collection contains nine short stories, roughly themed around dating. My favourite is Bulawayo, a sad story about two second generation Rhodesians set in 1959.The source of most human suffering is other humans, is it not?I don't recommend this book and certainly not as a first AMS read.
I am a fan of Alexander Mc Call Smith's books, especially his Isabel Dollhouse series.I like his lucid, subtle writing style, always amazed by his sharp observation of everyday human life. Fat Date and Maternal Influence are my other two likes.
